The ganglion of impar is an interesting block that is utilized to treat pain of the rectal region. This pain can be debilitating to patients on a daily basis. So by placing a needle through the coccygeal joint to the undersurface of the sacrum, we are able to reach this area and block this nerve to provide pain relief.
