Coccydynia, or tailbone pain as it is commonly known, can also be treated with intervention. Particularly if conservative means, physical therapy or pain avoidance by using a donut don’t help. In this case we can actually place a needle into the coccyx joint under direct fluoroscopic guidance and turn off the pain signals at this location.
